The Promise of Justice Initiative is a private, non-profit organization that advocates for humane, fair, and equal treatment of individuals in the criminal justice system. The Promise of Justice Initiative seeks to reform Louisiana’s criminal justice system and abolish the death penalty. Our projects focus on ending the death penalty, fixing inhumane conditions of confinement, exposing prosecutorial and judicial misconduct, eliminating poor representation of criminal defendants, and ending racial discrimination in the criminal justice system.
The Day of Empathy is a national day of action to generate empathy on a massive scale for millions of Americans impacted by the criminal justice system. On March 6th, 2018, the second national Day of Empathy, Dream Corps’ #cut50 initiative will bring organizations and criminal justice advocates across the country together to activate for a single day of action to spotlight their local efforts and unite under a unified banner to highlight the strength of the bipartisan criminal justice reform movement.
